Welcome to the DigiEnergy Lab!
Dr. Zhiling Guo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Building Environment and Energy Engineering (BEEE) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). His research focuses on developing digital, intelligent, and efficient urban energy systems to support sustainable and resilient cities. His work takes an interdisciplinary approach, integrating machine learning, geoscience, the Internet of Things (IoT), and renewable energy technologies.
Our lab, in collaboration with the International Centre for Urban Energy Nexus (UEX), develops innovative methodologies and tools for the mapping, assessment, simulation, and visualization of clean energy resources, with the goal of enabling their seamless integration into urban energy systems. We aim to support data-driven decision-making for sustainable energy planning in the context of climate change and rapid urbanization.

Our current research topics include:
-
Intelligent processing of diverse spatiotemporal datasets
-
Large-scale resource mapping for solar, wind, and other renewables
-
Spatiotemporal evaluation of energy potential and performance
-
Coupling mechanisms among buildings, transpor, and energy sectors
-
Development of interactive simulation and visualization platforms
-
Enhancing climate-resilient infrastructure for coastal cities
